About the event
Join Boards by Dana and the Bel Air Farmer's Market for this special Summer charcuterie event!
Build your own beautiful and delicious charcuterie board using local ingredients sourced straight from our Farmer's Market vendors at this Farmer's Market Charcuterie Class.
Dana from Boards by Dana & The Grazing Room will teach you how to source, style, and artfully arrange a charcuterie board using local cheeses, meats, produce, and other charcuterie board staples from various farmer's market vendors. This class includes all ingredients necessary to build your board, guided instruction on cheese and charcuterie cutting and styling techniques, a basic overview of the art and history of charcuterie, and a specially curated farmer's market charcuterie board shopping list.
Techniques taught will include cheese styling (the cheese wave, staircase, and rustic crumble using a traditional cheese knife) the charcuterie rose, and the philosophy behind arranging a deliciously balanced board that is sure to impress your guests.
At the end of the class, you will be provided with a box to pack your board to take home or along with you for the rest of your weekend plans.
We will be hosting two charcuterie class sessions on August 12th:
- 9am
- 11am
Both classes include the same ingredients and instruction. Please make sure you are purchasing tickets for the desired class time.
Tickets must be purchased in advance to allow for sourcing and preparation of each individual workshop kit. The class will last approximately 1hr and will allow time for interactive Q&A and hands-on instruction. Please arrive promptly to ensure the class can start on time.
Boards will be prepared on an eco friendly palm leaf plate which will be provided along with all other materials necessary to make your board. There will also be a wooden board vendor at the market selling his handcrafted boards. You may choose to purchase a board and use for the class, however please be advised that the volume of ingredients provided will be that which will fill between 65-70 square inches.
**Optional wine pairing ticket upgrade available**
- The upgraded wine pairing ticket option will include a wine pairing tasting from a local vineyard for each of the three cheeses used during the class.
